Horizontal Transfer

ARTICLE 49 – (1) Students who have completed at least one semester of study in a graduate program at the University or other higher education institutions and who meet the success level determined by the academic department/division council to which the program they wish to apply is affiliated may apply for lateral transfer to another graduate program offered at the University. For applications to be accepted, there must be master's, doctoral/artistic proficiency student quotas in the relevant department/division, the student must meet the student admission requirements of the graduate program to which they wish to transfer, and they must have achieved the grades specified in the third paragraph of Article 16 (see NOTE) in each of the courses they have taken during their graduate studies. The acceptance and adaptation of students deemed suitable for horizontal transfer by the academic department/art department council is finalized by the institute management council decision.

(2) For students enrolled in any master's program to be able to transfer horizontally to an integrated doctoral program, they must meet the entry requirements of the relevant department/art department's integrated doctoral program. The acceptance of horizontal transfer is recommended by the relevant academic department/division and finalized by a decision of the institute's administrative board. These students are granted the same time periods as students admitted with a bachelor's degree.

(3) Students admitted to the integrated doctoral program may transfer to a master's program offered at the University. These students must meet the admission requirements of the program to which they wish to transfer. Transfer admission is recommended by the relevant academic department/division and finalized by a decision of the institute's administrative board.

(4) Students transferring horizontally between programs of equivalent level may transfer a maximum of two courses for which they have achieved the grades specified in the third paragraph of Article 16 to the program to which they are transferring, upon the recommendation of the academic department/division board and the decision of the institute's administrative board.

(5) The periods of study completed by a student deemed eligible for horizontal transfer in their previous education shall be included in the program to which they are accepted.

 

NOTE:

ARTICLE 16 – (3) To be considered successful in a course, master's students must have obtained at least a C1 grade, and doctoral/artistry students must have obtained at least a B2 grade.
