MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Applications and programs are conducted in accordance with the provisions of Hacettepe University's Graduate Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations. Applicants must have graduated from relevant departments in the fields of science and engineering at universities or from relevant departments abroad whose equivalence has been approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
APPLICATIONS, ENTRANCE EXAM and FINAL REGISTRATION
Application Requirements for Turkish Citizens
A. Required Documents
- Copy of bachelor's degree or graduation certificate
- Transcript showing graduation degree
- Academic average of at least 2.50
- Candidates who are eligible to graduate but have not yet received their graduation certificate must upload a letter from their university stating that they are “eligible to graduate” instead of a diploma.
- During the application process, when retrieving graduate information: The 18-digit barcode number starting with YÖK, located in the upper right corner of the document generated through the Higher Education Student/Graduate Document Inquiry on e-Government, will be used.
3. ALES score report

- For the Master's program, the ALES score must be at least 65 (MATH.)
- The document must not be more than five years old.
- A document showing that the applicant has obtained a score equivalent to 65 points in the GRE and GMAT exams within the equivalence framework determined by the Hacettepe University Senate.
- Foreign Language Exam - A document proving that you have obtained the minimum English score from the English or equivalent exams (YDS: 65, YÖKDİL, TOEFL, CAE, CPE equivalent to 65 points is required).

If your documents are incomplete or contain errors, your application will not be approved by the Institute Directorate and will be returned to the email address you provided during the application process. If your application documents are corrected and resubmitted, they will be re-evaluated. Therefore, it is important to check your email account or application system frequently

B. Written Exam, Interview, and Overall Success Grade
Entrance exams are conducted in the form of written and interview exams. To be considered successful in the science exam, the written exam, interview, and overall success scores must be at least as follows out of 100 points:
*Students who score below 50 on the written exam will not be admitted to the oral exam..
*In the overall performance evaluation, 40% of the written exam score and 60% of the oral exam score are taken into account. The sum of these two scores is determined as the exam score, which constitutes 25% of the overall grade..

If there are any missing or incorrect entries in the system (such as academic grade point average, foreign language grade, or errors in document uploads), applicants will not be admitted to the general achievement assessment exam. Even if they are admitted, “the registrations of applicants who apply based on false statements and/or forged or altered documents will be canceled as of the program registration date.” (Graduate Regulations, Article 9).
C. Exam Location
Those who will take the written and interview exams must be present at the Nuclear Sciences Institute at the announced date and time for the interview in the relevant Department. You must be present at the exam location with all the documents you uploaded to the system during your application.
Announcement of Exam Results
The list of candidates who pass the entrance exam will be published on the Institute's website on the dates specified in the Academic Calendar.
D. Final Registration
Successful applicants must complete their final registration at the Institute by submitting the original copies of the documents they submitted during the application process by the final registration dates specified in the Academic Calendar.
- Candidate Registration and Exam Entry Form (Online Application Printout - System Printout Taken During Application)
- Certified Diploma or Graduation Certificate: Bachelor's degree graduation certificate (e-government printouts are valid. If the original document was uploaded during the application, the original of this document must be submitted to the Institute during final registration.)
- Graduation Transcript: Bachelor's Transcript (e-government printouts are valid. If a wet-signed document was uploaded during the application, the original of this document must be submitted to the Institute during final registration.)
- Transcripts without a wet signature or barcode will not be accepted.
- Applications are accepted on a 100-point grading scale.
- If your transcript only lists your graduation grade in the 4-point system and your university's conversion table is available, you must submit an official letter from your graduating university along with a conversion table for the period you graduated, indicating the 100-point system equivalents of the grades in the 4-point system. - If your transcript only lists your graduation grade on a 4-point scale and your university does not provide an official conversion table, you must submit an official letter from your university stating that it uses the conversion table published by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) showing the 100-point scale equivalents of grades on the 4-point scale.
- Diploma supplements will not be accepted as transcripts.
- ALES, GRE, or GMAT score report
- Foreign Language (YDS, TOEFL, etc.) results certificate
- For Male Students; Military Status Certificate (for Deferment of Military Service): This document must have been obtained from the Military Service Branch offices within the last month. Candidates who have completed their military service must bring a photocopy of their discharge certificate during registration. (A military status certificate obtained from e-Government is valid.)
- Copy of Identity Card (both sides on a single page)
- 2 photographs
Documents uploaded to the system must be legible, understandable, and complete. If it is determined that the information entered into the system during the application is false, inaccurate, or incomplete, the applicant's registration will not be finalized, and the registration of those who have already been registered will be canceled.
Notes: 1) ALES exam results are valid for five years from the date they are announced. 2) GRE and GMAT exams are valid for five years. 3) KPDS, ÜDS, YDS, and e-YDS exam results are valid for five years from the date of the exam.
Application Requirements for International Students
A. Required Documents
- A minimum score of 65 on the ALES exam is required for the Master's program, and the score must not be more than five years old.
A score of 65 on the GRE exam or an equivalent score of at least 65 on the GMAT exam is accepted in lieu of the ALES certificate.
- Bachelor's degree (Diplomas obtained from foreign countries must be approved by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) as equivalent)
- Transcript showing the degree of graduation
- A document proving that the student has achieved the minimum foreign language score set by international foreign language exams recognized by YÖK as equivalent to its central foreign language exams, if the student is not from a country where English is recognized as the primary language and where the student received their undergraduate education.
- To have the minimum base score in nationally and internationally recognized language exams whose equivalence is accepted by ÖSYM. (H.Ü. B. Final Registration
- Certified Copy of Graduation Certificate (2 copies) and Diploma Equivalency Certificate
- Certified Copy of Transcript (1 copy)
- Residence permit and/or passport photocopy for international students
- Original or certified copy of ALES, GRE, GMAT certificate
- Tuition Fee Receipt (Tuition fee amount to be determined annually by the Hacettepe University Senate for international students)

Special Student Application Requirements
Application Location: Hacettepe University Institute of Nuclear Sciences Beytepe Campus
Important Notices:
1. Students enrolled in any graduate program may apply as special students.
2. Seminar courses and Term Project courses cannot be taken under special student status.
3. Special students may take the number of courses determined by the Department Chairs.
4. The credit fees for the specified courses are listed in the table.
5. As a Special Student, you may take courses for a maximum of two semesters.
6. Permission must be obtained from the course instructor and the Department Chair for the course to be taken.
7. Accounts opened in the name of our university at Halk Bank will be closed for EFT and wire transfer transactions..
Turkish Nationality Special Students
After obtaining permission from the course instructor and the Department Chair for the course you wish to take;
- Register in the system via the Prospective Student login (first-time users must register first).
- You can apply for special student status by logging into the system as a prospective student using the password and username sent to your email address.
Documents to be Submitted to the Institute:
- Board of Directors Decision obtained from your university
- Special Student Application Form
- Certified copy of the bachelor's degree,
- Identity card,
- Entry record output
- Receipt (Applicants must deposit the specified amount per loan into their account at the relevant bank branch and submit their receipts and required documents to the Institute within the time periods specified in the Academic Calendar).
International Private Students
- Certified copy of bachelor's degree (equivalency approved by YÖK)
- Special Student Application Form
- Pasaport Fotokopisi,

*** Applicants whose applications will be accepted must be graduates or about to graduate from a higher education institution.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Pursuant to Article 35/6 of the Higher Education Council's Graduate Education and Teaching Regulations, a student enrolled in any graduate program (including inactive students), except for non-thesis master's programs, must withdraw from other graduate programs in order to enroll in the newly acquired program. Otherwise, the final enrollment of these candidates cannot be completed.
- Graduates who have applied conditionally to any program due to not yet receiving their graduation certificate must submit their graduation certificate (diploma) to the Institute during registration to prove that they have completed their graduation procedures in order to finalize their student registration.
- Students who have earned the right to final registration but have not registered by the announced registration dates will be replaced by candidates who have earned the right to register as alternates (starting with the first alternate) for any remaining vacancies. (Candidates who have earned the right to register but have not registered by the final registration dates will not be able to claim their rights later.)
IMPORTANT: Documents to be brought for registration must be legible, understandable, and complete.
In accordance with Article 9 of the Hacettepe University Graduate Education and Examination Regulations, the registrations of those who have completed their final registration based on false statements and/or forged and tampered documents shall be canceled as of the date of registration for the program.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURES and OTHER PROCESSES
Obtaining Student Username and Password and Student Login to the System
- The username and password information of the student whose registration has been finalized is sent to their email address or mobile phone.
- At this stage, the prospective student has now become a student at Hacettepe University's Institute of Nuclear Sciences.
- Students log in via the student login on our website's “BİLSİS” menu..
Contribution Payments
- Which students pay the contribution fee?
Turkish citizens who exceed the program duration and are not research assistants pay a contribution fee each semester.
- Program durations
- Master's Degree with Thesis: Four semesters, regardless of whether the student registers each semester.

- International students who are not Turkish Scholarship Recipients or Government Scholarship Recipients pay a contribution fee each semester.
- Turkish citizens enrolled at two different universities must pay a contribution fee if their enrollment date at Hacettepe University is later than their enrollment date at the other university. Important note: For programs offering education in a language other than Turkish, the contribution fee is calculated at 1.5 times the standard rate
Learning about the Academic Advisor
- The assignment of an advisor to the student is made at the beginning of the semester by the Institute Management Board upon the recommendation of the relevant department.
- The student logs into BİLSİS to find out who their advisor is.
Course selection
- The student selects and approves the courses they have determined with their advisor from BİLSİS.
- The advisor gives approval from BİLSİS.
Add-Delete
- If a student wishes to make changes to their course schedule, they determine the final version of their course list together with their advisor and approve it in BİLSİS.
- The advisor grants add-delete approval from BİLSİS.
Important note: Students who are not changing courses do not need to perform any actions in the system.
